In summary, GMS files created in X7 will not work with previous versions. Why? In order for X6 to successfully load a GMS file it looks for the CorelDRAW.tlb reference, since this reference does not exist in the GMS file created by X7, CorelDRAW X6 does not see this as a valid GMS file and therefor does not load it. If you create the GMS file in X7 and then put it into X6 the GMS will not show up.

So for example if I know I want to support CorelDRAW X6 and X7 with my GMS file I would need to create the GMS file in CorelDRAW X6 and it would then work in X6 and in X7. If you wish to support multiple versions of CorelDRAW you need to create the GMS file in that older version. This means that if you create a GMS file in CorelDRAW X7 it will not work with previous versions of CorelDRAW.
